Proof that Piano FAQs are timeless!

We had an interesting find in our piano workshop today; deep inside a piano that we were pulling apart to repair and restore, we found this interesting newspaper clipping.

We don’t know what year it dates, however it was a question written in from CM from Salisbury North to Mr Lucien Parent, a highly regarded Adelaide piano restorer and tuner from the 1960s through to the early millennium.

We find it interesting that now we have our FAQs available on our website and our Facebook page, however back then Adelaide people wrote to the paper for such information.

After finding this little gem, we did some more research and found this snippit from the National Archives of Australia about Mr Parent, under the category of ‘Migrants in Employment’. Fascinating stuff! And what a legend is the late Mr Parent.  Have a look at the National Archives link below:

We were lucky enough to meet Mr Parent about 10 years ago when we visited in at home and purchased some of his spare piano parts and tools.
